Center Stage Theatre in Shelton will present The SpongeBob Musical July 17-August 2 as its annual Youth Connection production featuring performers ages 14-23. When the citizens of Bikini Bottom discover that a volcano will soon erupt and destroy their humble home, SpongeBob and friends must come together to save the fate of their undersea world. Along the way, they deal with Plankton’s scheme to use the disaster to control the town, Mr. Krabs’ attempt to profit from it and Patrick’s accidental rise as a cult leader. With lives hanging in the balance and all hope lost, a most unexpected hero rises up; the power of optimism really can save the world!
