Neurodivergence and the Adult World

The Neurodivergence and the Adult World presentation will help people o better understand the unique needs of a person with Autism, ADHD, Tourette’s, Dyslexia, and several other diagnoses. The adult world can be a confusing place. We hope to help clear up some of the confusion with information to help guide your young adult, loved one, as they transition from a teen to adulthood. Social Connections was created to help young adults with neurodivergence and developmental disabilities navigate the challenges of the world. Most of our clients are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, ADHD, Developmental Delays, and/or other neurodivergent brain disorders. We focus on helping these young adults begin building independence in the following areas: communication skills, career skills, social skills, dating (sex education), self-care, self-advocacy, and internet usage. Strong family support is critical to the success of the young adults' journey. Our services include individual coaching sessions, family support, and peer groups.
