In the spirit of reverence and remembering the human cost at Franklin in 1864 various accounts from civilians and soldiers alike, North and South, will be read, interspersed with the period music.
Musician and historian Ben Miller will be coming from Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley to entertain and educate the audience on well-documented, and correctly played, fiddle and banjo tunes from the 1850s and 60s – songs almost all participants in the contest at Franklin would have known.
Preservationist and artist, Robert Lee Hodge, will narrate the event, briefly in part describing his journey in discovering and appreciating the history of Franklin, evolving into preservation efforts at various Franklin battlefield sites, principally Collins Farm on the Lewisburg Pike.
If time permits there will be a brief period for questions and answers. Program ends at 9:30 pm.
Tickets are $20.00.
One-third of the tickets sales will go toward battlefield protection and Franklin!
