JCFOC Hosts Jewish Street Art Festival

The Jewish Community Foundation Orange County (JCFOC) hosts a Jewish Street Art Experience: Live at the Merage Jewish Community Center (JCC). The event will showcase new community murals, as well as hands-on workshops, delicious food and live entertainment. In partnership with the Jewish Street Art Festival, this one-day celebration transforms the JCC campus into a vibrant hub where acclaimed Jewish and Israeli artists connect with the community through interactive installations, street-art activations, and creative experiences for all ages. The live art event – curated and presented by the Foundation’s Weissman Arts program, a project of the JCFOC, and hosted at the Merage JCC, and is open to the whole family. Festivalgoers can dive into immersive workshops with artists like Hillel Smith, Alexander Golob, and Sheina Yarmush, watch live painting by Shlome J Hayun and Adam Podber, join the teen-led hip-hop class “Step Up” in our Family Zone—proving the fun is for all ages—or take part in Marking Memory, a moving ritual of symbolic expression with artist Amir Magal. Two dynamic panels offer deeper conversation and cultural insight: Graff Heals: Top 10 Murals Transforming Israel (ages 16+), led by Craig Dershowitz, founder of Art Over Hate, takes audiences behind-the-scenes of 10 powerful murals bringing beauty and hope to Israeli communities in crisis—culminating in a live audience vote to rank the works. From the Screen to the Street: Exploring Jewish Identity Today, aimed at teens and adults, features journalist and pop culture expert Esther Kustanowitz and more, exploring how Jewish stories, symbols, and voices are represented—and reshaped—across TV, film, music, and street art. Between activities, guests can savor award-winning tacos from Lime, Israeli street food from Falalfa, and kosher favorites from the JCC’s own Blueberry Hill Café. With its mix of bold art, thought-provoking dialogue, and mouthwatering eats, the Jewish Street Art Experience promises a day where culture, creativity, and community come vividly to life.
