Free Rosemount Community Band Pops Concert

The Rosemount Community Band (RCB) will play their free Pops Concert on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at The Well United Methodist Church, located at 14770 Canada Avenue West in Rosemount. The concert, which will feature popular songs from movies, Broadway musicals and television shows, is free and open to the public. The Well invites attendees to donate non-perishable food items for the Rosemount Family Resource Center. The RCB will be directed by guest conductor Kyle Manley, who has been substituting for RCB Director Tom Maeck for the last several weeks of rehearsals. Manley, a former school band instructor and a Rosemount High School alumnus, played with both the RCB and the Genesis Jazz Orchestra in the past. At the Pops Concert, he will conduct the RCB in playing, in addition to other songs, some favorite tunes from Disney’s “The Lion King” and “The Little Mermaid”, a “Doctor Who” theme and a “Star Wars” medley, an appropriate piece for Star Wars Day - “May the 4th be with you”. Tom Maeck will return to direct the RCB for its next series of rehearsals before their Monday, July 22 Leprechaun Days concert at 7:00 p.m. at Rosemount’s Central Park Bandshell. The all-volunteer RCB, which started in September 2011, is composed of adult musicians from Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan and other areas of the south metro. Members range in age from the 20s through the 80s, have various skill levels and all share a love of music and performing for the community. The band's director, Tom Maeck, has over 40 years of experience in directing both community and high school bands.
