Duo Mundi George & Guli: An Evening of Synchronized Artistry
Schmitt Music Bloomington is proud to host Duo Mundi George & Guli on March 10 at 7:00 p.m. Known for their signature "adrenaline of communication," this duo creates beautifully synchronized performances that engage both the eye and the ear.
Since their 2022 debut at New York City’s Steinway Hall, they have performed standing-room-only concerts across the globe with a repertoire that is both innovative and diverse.
THE ARTISTS:
Internationally acclaimed pianist Dr. Gulimina Mahamuti was the first Uyghur from China to earn a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance in the United States and has debuted at Carnegie Hall. George Lopez, Artist in Residence at Bowdoin College, has been celebrated by the Los Angeles Times for his "kaleidoscopic colors" at halls like the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam.
EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITY:
The duo will also lead a workshop for adult students on March 11. As esteemed pedagogues with over six decades of combined experience, George and Guli offer a rare level of insight for local musicians.
