Rosemount Community Band Concert with Rosemount High School Wind Ensemble
Celebrate “Music in Our Schools Month” on Sunday, March 10 at 2:00 p.m. at the collaborative concert of the Rosemount Community Band (RCB) and the Rosemount High School (RHS) Wind Ensemble. The free concert, which is open to the public, will take place in the RHS Performing Arts Center.
“The RCB’s portion of the concert will feature some dance music from Albania and the Bayou, as well as a gorgeous musical depiction of dusk. We will end it with the epic Gustave Holst work, ‘Jupiter’ from ‘The Planets’,” noted Tom Maeck, RCB’s director. “The outstanding RHS Wind Ensemble will be playing music from their recent performance at the Minnesota Music Educators Association Midwinter Convention 2024,” he added. The joint concert has been a tradition for many years.
The all-volunteer RCB, which started in September 2011, is composed of adult musicians from Rosemount, Apple Valley, Eagan and other areas of the south metro. Members range in age from the 20s through the 80s, have various skill levels and all share a love of music and performing for the community. The band's director, Tom Maeck, has over 40 years of experience in directing both community and high school bands.
