ULMER QUARTET
The Ulmer Quartet is an emerging band from New Ulm, Minnesota. They play a mix of jazz, classic rock, and more. These youngsters started playing together when they were all in high school. They were heavily inspired by jazz classics like the Dave Brubeck Quartet and John Coltrane, while also being fans of classic rock artists like Billy Joel and Elton John. Mitchell Schotzko leads the band playing tenor, alto, and soprano saxophones. He enjoys the quick saxophone swaps in between songs. Playing bass guitar, and additional trombone and trumpet, Britton Beran holds down the low section. Back on the drums and providing some vocals is Joey Kotten, who started playing with a polka band back when he was 14 years old. 16 year-old Ryan Johnson plays the piano in an unbelievable fashion, and joins in on alto saxophone and clarinet. These kids have more than 15 instruments to play combined. Many fans complement them on their wide variety of music that is fit for anyone.
