MFB Night Crew - A Special PRIDE Show!
The MFB Night Crew is a new-ly formed group with the purpose of offering it’s individuals an opportunity to explore the world of jazz improvisation.
The group draws its members from two larger groups, The Minnesota Freedom Band and the Minnesota Freedom Jazz bands, both long -time GLBT+ friends bands.
The creation of this smaller group was made possible by a grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council along with legislative appropriation from the arts and cultural heritage fund.
Featured songs include compositions by Dizzy Gilespy, Eddie Harris, Duke Ellington, and of course lets not forget the late Sonny Rollins incorporating jazz, latin, and funk standards.
Coming from different walks of life, and many new to the world of jazz, the members share the common interest to explore and grow.
