Minnesota State Autism Conference

AuSM’s goal for our conference is to advance the understanding of autism and neurodiversity through educational content, community building, and connections to resources serving people and families affected by autism. This year, our keynote speakers include Eric Garcia and Dr. Mona Delahooke, along with 28 breakout sessions geared toward autistics and their families, educators, advocates, service providers, and support professionals. Our first day (Wednesday April 26) will be a half-day (12:30-4:30 p.m.) pre-conference workshop for attendees to get a foundational grounding that preps them for the rest of the conference. This workshop will be geared toward educators, people recently diagnosed and their families, and others who may be new to our community. For people unable to attend our conference in-person, AuSM is again offering a virtual pass to 13 breakout sessions. Like last year, virtual content is co-presented in partnership with the Autism Society of Greater Wisconsin – their annual conference is one week from ours, with our timing intentionally coordinated with our friends in Wisconsin. Whether you are new to autism or have decades of experience, there’s information for you. We strive to make the conference accessible, with features like a quiet space, captioning for all presentations, and name badges that let you indicate your openness to socialization.
