Ashti's Journey to Jazz
Ashti's Journey to Jazz follows Ashti Freeborn, a middle schooler who lives in the city and has learned that she is losing her beloved Jazz teacher because of a lack of school funding. The story takes the audience on a musical journey of learning about the importance of music through the history lessons of Jazz roots taught by some CRAZY jazz birds with impeccable comedic timing.
This production features CC Kramer, Solomon Parham, and Thomasina Petrus, along with a talented ensemble of local actors of all ages, bringing this vibrant story to life with soulful jazz music and dynamic performances. Celebrated Twin Cities singer and actor Thomasina Petrus composed the score in collaboration with Thom West.
