She Stoops to Conquer

After a successful production of Oscar Wilde’s “The Importance of Being Ernest” at the Celtic Junction Arts Center, The Out of the Mist Celtic Theatre is back in April with another period classic. Out of the Mist presents “She Stoops to Conquer” by Irish playwright Oliver Goldsmith. Last year’s production was both well received and well attended. This year’s offering is again directed by the ubiquitous Michele Schwantes, with a number of the same performers. A talented writer and director, Schwantes rarely has two consecutive weeks when she is not directing a play in the Twin Cities, and they often overlap. It has been a beneficial collaboration with Out of the Mist, and the costuming, which received high praise for “Ernest”, is again in the capable hands of Lissa Miller. The performances are at the Celtic Junction Arts Center, 836 N. Prior, St. Paul, 55104. Dates are April 6, 7, 14 and 15 at 7:30 pm, and matinees on April 8 and 16 at 2:00 pm. Tickets are $20 for adults, $15 for students and seniors (65+). The April 6th performance is “Pay what you can.” For tickets, contact the Celtic Junction Arts Center at celticjunction.org/.
