Four years after JURASSIC PARK became a cultural phenomenon, Steven Spielberg and Jeff Goldblum would team up again to adapt Michael Crichton's follow-up THE LOST WORLD into a movie. Featuring a setup not far from that of the original – silly humans put dinosaurs on another island, sillier humans go to said island to study them, more silly humans show up to fight about it – THE LOST WORLD: JURASSIC PARK is a darker, more visceral outing that still manages to capture the wonder of the first film. And, yes, the effects still hold up.
