Tickets are on sale now for The Youth and Family Project’s new fundraiser Nightmares Around Elm Street. On Friday, October 27th three haunted walking tours around West Bend will begin at the Youth and Family Project agency building at 7:30, 7:45, and 8:00 pm. There will be cocoa, treats, and raffle tickets for sale at Youth and Family Project before and after the tours.
The agency hopes to reach a fundraising goal of $5000 to support agency programming which includes free counseling services for youth, LGBTQ+ support groups, homeless youth (ages 18-24) support, supervised visitation, and holiday support for families experiencing financial hardship. Funds are needed to support professional supervision of interns and staff providing counseling services to youth, support our AmeriCorps members providing outreach services, and grow and respond to community needs. Additionally, the agency building was built in the late 1800s and is need of improvements to continue to offer safe spaces to families.
There are still openings for volunteers to get involved with this spooky fun event. Actors are needed to lead the tours, greet event attendees, sell goodies and raffle tickets and help decorate. If interested in helping out, please reach out to us at [email protected] or check out our listing on the Volunteer Center of Washington County website.
