Birdwatching

Many bird species migrate into North America after spending the winter in Central and South America. Birds often stay in Wisconsin to nest; others stop here to feed before traveling farther. Bird lover Rick Fare will lead a bird walk on the Siena grounds during a peak migration period. We may see orioles, hummingbirds, tanagers and some of the 35 species of the colorful warblers. Sunday, May 5, 2024 8:00am – 11:00am Cost: $30 About the Facilitator Rick Fare is the current President and Education Chair for the Hoy Audubon Chapter of the National Audubon Society representing Kenosha and Racine Counties. He is a recipient of the Bronze Passenger Pigeon Award for contributions to Ornithology from the Wisconsin Society of Ornithology and recipient of the Achievement Award for contributions to the study of bluebirds from the Bluebird Restoration Association of Wisconsin. Rick has been an avid birder for over 40 years.
