FULL STEAM AHEAD! Large-scale printmaking, food trucks, and more at Wustum!
Discover the process of printing large-scale relief cuts using a steamroller as a massive makeshift printing press! Full Steam Ahead is free to attend at RAM’s Wustum Museum, 2519 Northwestern Avenue.
Relief printing is a process in which a design is carved into wood, or a similar material, to make a protruding surface that can be inked and printed on paper or fabric. The process of printing relief cuts using a steamroller offers an over-the-top spectacle for both participants and viewers. The resulting new pieces will be available for purchase alongside a selection of the artists’ existing work. Proceeds benefit both the artists and RAM’s Wustum Museum.
Various hands-on art activities will be available as well – fun for everyone! Make a day of it by purchasing lunch from one of the tasty food trucks and picnicking on the Wustum’s beautiful grounds.
