Treasure Island

It’s a pirates’ life on stage as “Treasure Island” opens the Racine Children's Theatre season Friday, October 4 - Sunday, October 6, 2024. The magic of this play comes from the way the entire audience creates the storm at sea, a mosquito-infested jungle, and a treasure cave filled with eerie ghosts. Children in the audience become members of Long John’s treacherous pirate gang while others join Captain Smollet’s crew. The children team up with the fearsome Ben Bulba to help defeat Red the Pirate Queen and save Long John. They must decide whether to punish Long John or let him sail away forever to inhabit children’s dreams. This show relies heavily on participation with the children in the audience, with rambunctious pirates encouraging the use of imagination throughout the show. Show Dates and Times: • Friday, October 4 at 6:00 p.m. • Saturday, October 5 at 12:00, 2:00, & 4:00 p.m. • Sunday, October 6 at 12:00, 2:00, & 4:00 p.m. Based on the book by Robert Louis Stevenson and written by Steve and Kathy Hotchner, “Treasure Island” will be performed by Sparklight Porductions and sponsored by SC Johnson. Packy, the RCT friendly elephant mascot, will greet the audience at the performance. Shows are just over an hour in length and are great ways to introduce children to theatre and the arts, while creating new memories. Tickets are just $7 each for children and adults. Seating is general admission and shows are recommended for ages 4 and above. Season tickets and flex passes are also available for the most savings all year long. Join us by getting your tickets from the Racine Theatre Guild located at 2519 Northwestern Avenue, Racine.
