The magic of Roald Dahl’s “Matilda: The Musical, Jr.” will cast its spell on kids of all ages Friday, November 17 – Sunday, November 19, 2023 as part of the Racine Children’s Theatre. Matilda has astonishing wit, intelligence… and special power! She dreams of a better life and escapes from reality at home through stories. Her teacher, Miss Honey, sees Matilda’s gifts but the evil headmistress, Miss Trunchbull, hates children and forces them all to follow her strict rules. Through Matilda’s bravery of standing up to Trunchbull, the other students join the rebellion that inspires audiences to root for the “revolting children” who are out to teach the grown-ups a lesson. Show Dates and Times: • Friday, November 17 at 6:00 p.m. • Saturday, November 18 at 12:00, 2:00, & 4:00 p.m. • Sunday, November 19 at 12:00, 2:00, & 4:00 p.m. Presented by students from Gilmore Fine Arts and sponsored by SC Johnson, A Family Company, the musical features a book by Dennis Kelly Music and lyrics by Tim Minchin. Packy, our elephant mascot, will greet the audience at the performance. Just over an hour in length, these shows are a great way to make new memories and introduce children to theatre.
