It continues to have a devastating impact on indigenous communities. The month long exhibit at the library will explore these connections. In addition to the display, Siobhan Marks, a Water Walker and Water Protector with deep knowledge of the impact of oil pipelines on the environment will speak at the First Presbyterian Church on Monday October 6 at 6:30 pm. Also the award winning documentary, Bad River, will be shown in the Community room at the Racine Public Library on Tuesday October 14 at 5:30 pm.     Fossil fuel extraction industry has caused havoc to our environment and our health. It continues to have a devastating impact on indigenous communities. The month long exhibit at the library will explore these connections. This documentary will explore the Bad River Band's continuing struggle for sovereignty in the face of relentless pressure from the multimillion dollar Canadian oil company Enbridge. A hands-on activity to design tote bags with water protector images is scheduled for Saturday October 25, from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. All events are free and open to the public.
