RACINE, Wis. — The Racine Heritage Museum (701 Main Street) has announced that former Major League pitcher and Racine native Shane Rawley will be signing copies of his first novel, “Peter Cobb, Three Strikes You’re Out” at the museum on November 22. The event will take place from 6pm to 8pm.
Rawley, who pitched for the Mariners, Yankees, Phillies and Twins during his 12-year big league career, will sign books from 6pm to 7pm. There will be an interactive hour with Shane following the book signing including an interview about the book, and a Q&A session with the audience.
Admission for the event is free.
Set primarily in the 1970s in Racine, “Peter Cobb” is the story of a former Vietnam War veteran and a God-gifted Major Leaguer who is diagnosed with PTSD. As he battles a self-destructive personality, Peter Cobb begins a relationship with Ronnie, the Irish Catholic lassie who owns McQuire’s Pub. Through a series of plot twists and turns, the pair begin a journey together that will change both of their lives forever. The book makes several references to well-known landmarks around Racine.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase at the event. The book is also available on Amazon.
