Weiss, Levin Bros. Mister Jr., Ruth Karnes, Kovach Motors and more. By popular demand, Photographic Design Gallery & Framing is again exhibiting its best ever exhibit, Downtown Racine = Then and Now, but featuring all the buildings on Sixth Street taken in the early 70s by architect Robert Hartmann, the same buildings photographed by Brad Jaeck and Carol Hansen in 2012 and again in 2024. All have been merged to show the buildings as entire blocks. The Main Street portion will be shown in 2025.. The exhibit has been renamed Downtown Sixth Street - Through the Years due to adding 2024 images. Rounding... Rounding out the First Friday evening, Racine historian Jim Mercier will be showing numerous artifacts from business located on Sixth Street many years ago, including Nevin's Groceries, Ala Rug and Mohr Jones.
