The change was prompted by the impending sale of Circle B Recreation. Next year, the show will move to the much larger Expo Center. Model railroading is different from toy trains in that builders seek to accurately represent features of the railroad industry in fine detail. Clubs from around the state will show their efforts to that end in various scales.     METRO Model Railroad Club’s annual show and swap meet on March 12th will be in a new location, the Ozaukee Pavilion at the county fair park in Cedarburg. The change was prompted by the impending sale of Circle B Recreation. Next year, the show will move to the much larger Expo Center. Model railroading is different from toy trains in that builders seek to accurately represent features of the railroad industry in fine detail. Clubs from around the state will show their efforts to that end in various scales. West Bend’s Kettle Moraine Ballast Scorchers will bring a layout in HO scale while the Milwaukee Lionel Railroad Club will feature the O scale Lionel 3 rail trains. Milwaukee and Southeastern will bring an N scale pike, as well as the 1” scale equipment of the Milwaukee Light Engineering Society. As a bonus, Tim Hellmann will bring a Lego built layout that will delight the kids. All of the clubs showing have open membership, so potential hobbyists have a chance to seek out a group they may be compatible with. Club members will be available to answer questions and help with modeling problems. The show will also feature 50 tables of dealers who will buy, sell and swap model railroad equipment and memorabilia. Since there will be no Trainfest in 2023, this is only one of two chances for modelers in southeastern Wisconsin to seek out that locomotive or boxcar they dream of. The show runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Admission is by a $4 donation, with children under 12 admitted free with an adult. METRO Model Railroad Club is a nonprofit organization with a permanent layout in Port Washington, open to potential members on Tuesday and Thursday evenings Contact information is on the Club’s website at metrorrclub.org.
