Erica Dawn Lyle at the Jazz Gallery on March 1
Erica Dawn Lyle, who splits time between New Your City and her native Florida, is the former touring guitar player for Bikini Kill. As a solo performer, Lyle has released musical collaborations with Kim Gordon, The Raincoats, Bernadette Mayer, Kathleen Hanna, Brontez Purcell, and many more.
Lyle’s literary achievements include authoring Streetopia (Booklyn, 2015) and On The Lower Frequencies: A Secret History of The City (Soft Skull, 2008). Lyle’s been published in Artforum, Art in America, and Frieze, as well as appearing on NPR’s This American Life. Lyle’s most recent book is The Knight of Cups (Belladonna Press, 2023).
Making this an additionally thunderous evening of experimental and avant-garde improv will be local support from Chelsea Tadeyeske, Cornelius Sludge, and tampertamper.
