Recommended for ages 13+ Mary Shelley was only 19 years old when she wrote her masterpiece: Frankenstein; Or, The Modern Prometheus. This pivotal work is not only a classic of gothic horror fiction, but one of the first examples of the science fiction genre, and has spawned countless retellings and film adaptations since its publication in 1818.
