You are invited to attend a non-partisan community forum entitled “Why Your Vote Matters” scheduled for 4 PM on Saturday March 23 at the Cesar Chavez Center in Racine. The forum is intended to educate voters on relevant and important issues regarding voting. A panel of speakers from our community will discuss issues related to democracy, education, sustainability, and justice. Many local organizations will be on hand with information about resources that they provide to the community such as information about how to register to vote and get to the polls. This will be a wonderful opportunity to connect with your neighbors and pick up resources that you might need to be an informed voter. Snacks will also be provided!
This event in Racine is one of at least 33 stops across Wisconsin that Building Unity WI is making to build a movement for peace, justice, sustainability, and democracy. The Racine community forum is sponsored by Unity Racine, Racine Branch of N.A.A.C.P., Racine Women for Racial Justice, the LGBT Center of SE Wisconsin, Racine Coalition for Peace and Justice, Heritage Committee, Ex-incarcerated People Organized (EXPO), Sustaining Our Leaders (SOL), the Racine Interfaith Coalition (RIC), and Education Empowerment.
