Forgotten Souls – A Photography Exhibit for Halloween
Halloween and cemeteries go together. Cemeteries conjure up midnight ghosts, sorrow, and beautifully carved angels.
Carl Hartt, a Wauwatosa photographer, will be exhibiting 36 black and white images from his “Forgotten Souls” series at the Firefly Gallery in Wauwatosa.
The photographs in this exhibit provoke melancholy as they are beautifully rendered by Carl Hartt – whether they be a broken cross or a mourning angel. Most of the photographs have a sad romantic aura to them.
Carl Hartt enjoys photographing chaos-in-order (e.g. a cemetery), or order-in-chaos (e.g. a forest). He also enjoys photographing architecture, automobiles, natural elements, and abstract nudes. He is a self-taught award-winning photographer and has been exhibiting his work annually since 2006.
Firefly Gallery is located within the Wauwatosa Library / City Hall at 7635 W North Avenue. Parking and doors are on the south east side of the building and is ADA accessible.
An Opening Reception is planned for Wednesday October 2nd from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
The exhibit runs from Tuesday October 1st through Thursday, October 31st. The gallery is open to the public from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, Friday and Saturday 9 a.m. until 5 p.m., and Sundays from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
