The OUTshine LGBTQ+ Film Festival Spring Edition presents the international premiere of the drama We’ll Find Happiness (On sera heureux) (Canada, 2025), its Closing Night Film, at 6 p.m., on May 3, at Savor Cinema. Multiple actors will be in attendance. A community block party featuring entertainment, DJ Zehno, food trucks and performers will follow the screening.
Saad, a young Moroccan exile in Quebec with secrets of his own, will do anything to save the man he loves, Reza, an Iranian refugee facing deportation and likely death. In a desperate gamble, Saad attempts to seduce Laurent, a gorgeous, high-ranking Ministry of Immigration spokesperson, triggering a chain of events that are as intimate as they are political. Traversing Iran, Spain, France, and Canada in a stylish fury, We’ll Find Happiness crafts a rare, powerful, and timely portrait of LGBTQ+ refugees, blending passion, sacrifice, and the relentless pursuit of freedom.
The film is in French, English, and Arabic and runs 102 minutes.
