Sunshine Jazz Celebrates International Jazz Month on April 7th!
April is International Jazz Month, a global celebration! In honor of the UNESCO-sponsored extravaganza, and along with the Herbie Hancock Institute of Jazz, The Sunshine Jazz Organization will once again participate with a very special concert presentation. Please join us to celebrate on Friday, April 7th at The Sandrell Rivers Black Box Theater. where SJO is featuring New York City native "Ginetta M."! Ginetta is a "Triple threat Female powerhouse" who plays pocket trumpet, sings & composes while leading her acclaimed Jazz combo "Ginetta's Vendetta". Her most recent 2022 Ambassador tour was through the central Asian country of Uzbekistan. A massive success, her band headlined the opening night of The International Jazz Day celebration at The 6th Annual International Jazz Festival of Uzbekistan. They toured the country giving workshops, visiting disabled youth centers, doing radio & TV spots, entertaining, teaching and inspiring especially young audiences about the beauty, history and value of Jazz. The band will be featuring pianist Gianni Bianchinni, bassist Paul Shewchuk and Raul Valdez on the drums. While teaching audiences around the globe from Moscow to Jakarta, Paris, Beirut, Jamaica, California, Canada, Mexico, Miami and all points in between, Ginetta M. continues her musical ministry as a Jazz Ambassador, calling Jazz "America's Greatest Export".
