Third Horizon Film Festival Opening Night Film + Party
Third Horizon Film Festival (THFF) returns this Spring for its highly anticipated eighth edition, promising a stellar lineup of films from the Caribbean, its diaspora, and the Global South, alongside the legendary and liberating social events, panels, and short film programs that define its unique spirit. Voted one of the "25 Coolest Film Festivals in the World" by MovieMaker Magazine, THFF is a vital cultural event deeply rooted in Miami's identity. Launching with an opening night film & afterparty taking place on Thursday, May 29th at the Pérez Art Museum Miami and May 30th-June 1st at Koubek Center in Little Havana.

The festival kicks off with a powerful opening night film & party at the Pérez Art Museum Miami on Thursday, May 29th. Koutkekout (At All Kosts), a documentary from Haiti by Director Joseph Hill showcases the resilience and courage of young artists in Haiti who use dance, music, and theater to resist the ongoing challenges of cholera, gangs, and political instability. Living through a tumultuous history since the Duvaliers’ dictatorship, these artists find a vital space for expression and resistance at the Festival Quatre Chemins in Port-au-Prince. Koutkekout interweaves history, stories, poems, and performances, revealing another face of Haiti – one dreamt by artists who rely on their talent to survive and rebuild their future.
Third Horizon is more than just a film festival; it is a network of artists, storytellers and filmmakers, dedicated to the possibilities of cinema, connecting audiences to stories from the Caribbean and the Global South.
Third Horizon is for the curious and those open to experiencing film outside of the familiar and known narratives. It invites audiences to engage with cinema that is joyous, electric, rebellious, and rooted.
