Cayuga Centers Foster Parent Training Course (Virtual)
The Foster Parent Pre-Service Training Course will take place virtually via Google Meet and provide education on the role of a foster parent in the treatment plan of youth in foster care. The course consists of three-hour sessions offered on Tuesday evenings for seven weeks. These classes are part of a training program that is offered to prepare foster parents on how to provide supportive loving homes for children and youth in need.
In 2023, Florida had more than 20,000 youth in foster care but only a little over 8,500 foster homes. Cayuga Centers offers Treatment Family Foster Care, which is a research-informed, multi-tiered team approach for children and youth who need high levels of support due to trauma they have experienced. The agency has served in Palm Beach since 2015, Broward County since 2019, and the Treasure Coast region since 2022.
