Mother’s Day Floral Bar & Mission Project @ North Scottsdale UMC
Scottsdale, AZ - As Mother’s Day approaches, North Scottsdale United Methodist Church (NSUMC) extends a warm invitation to families to join them for a special celebration honoring mothers. The Mother’s Day Floral Bar and Mission Project will take place on Sunday, May 12th, at 11:00 am in the fellowship hall.
In addition to the floral festivities, NSUMC is excited to offer a unique activity for children in 2nd-5th grade during their Sunday School Classroom time. Participants will engage in a mission project supporting Southwest Human Development by assembling flowerpots for their Grow a Reader Program. The Sunday School children will create paper flowerpots. Each pot will feature QR codes for others to be literacy champions by selecting books to purchase for families in need of books for their littles.
The Mother’s Day Floral Bar, combined with the SWHD mission project, promises to be a memorable experience for all attendees. Children will have the opportunity to create personalized floral arrangements for their mothers while also contributing to meaningful mission work to support other mother’s and their children in the community.
Following the Sunday School class families will have access to greenery, baby's breath, bud vases, and a variety of flowers, attendees can craft beautiful bouquets reflecting their mother’s favorite flowers and colors. It's a wonderful opportunity for children to express love and appreciation in a creative and meaningful way.

The inspiration for the Mother’s Day Floral Bar comes from timeless stories of mothers and mother figures found in the Bible, such as Sarah, Hagar, Naomi, Hannah, and Mary. Their examples of faith, strength, love, perseverance, and courage serve as a reminder of the remarkable qualities embodied by mothers everywhere.
Families are invited to skip the florist line this Mother’s Day and join NSUMC for this special celebration of motherhood and community service. The event is free and open to the public, encouraging attendees to invite friends and neighbors to join in the fun.
