Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary to host Valentine's-themed open house to raise awareness for senior dogs

Forever Loved Pet Sanctuary, Scottsdale’s only senior dog rescue group, will hold Show & Tail: A Valentine’s Open House event on February 10, 2024 from 10 am to 1 pm at the rescue located at 11414 N. 67th Street in Scottsdale. The event is free and open to the public. The open house will include tours, vendor and information booths as well as a senior-dog kissing booth. “It will be a terrific event and a great way to spend a Saturday,” said Angela Heckler, FLPS Director of Development. “We hope people learn a lot about us and our senior dogs and also have some fun.” Various Forever Loved senior dogs will be manning the kissing booth, offering smooches to event goers as well as adorable photo opportunities. Heckler encourages any dog lover to attend the free event, especially those who are not familiar with the rescue. “Forever Loved hopes to build awareness about the facility as well as the senior dogs that need the public’s help,” explained Heckler. “We want people to come see and experience our Sanctuary and learn about the great work we do for senior dogs. We’re a hidden gem right in the middle of Scottsdale – and we don’t want to remain hidden.” Attendees will be able to tour the Sanctuary and see the dogs’ oversized kennel suites with comfortable furniture and doggy doors to private outside spaces. The covered play yard will be open as well. Event goers can also check out a wide variety of offerings at the mini market, including irresistible hand-crafted items for both humans and dogs. A member of the veterinarian team that cares for the rescued dogs will be on hand to chat as well. Information will be available for those interested in volunteering with Forever Loved, whether they’d like to walk dogs, become foster families, clean kennel suites, assist with adoption events, or help in other ways. “So many dogs need homes right now, so if someone is inspired to adopt a senior dog, that would be great as well” added Heckler. “Anything we can do to spread the word about our senior dogs and our organization while having fun is a no-brainer.” As Show and Tail: A Valentine’s Open House will be held at a rescue with numerous senior dogs present, no outside dogs will be permitted to attend the event.
