Pitmasters on Fire at Multi-Day Signature BBQ Classic Event
MESA, Ariz. – The second annual Downtown Mesa BBQ Classic is making a Valley wide comeback, after a resounding success last year. More than 40 world-class pitmasters, from all over the Valley and country, will take over the East Valley for a two-day unforgettable weekend of smoky, mouthwatering goodness in the heart of Downtown Mesa (100 N. Center St.). On Friday, November 8 and Saturday, Nov. 9, live music, family fun and local vendors will join together alongside a Barbecue Championship Series (BCS)-sanctioned competition for friends and family alike to enjoy.
The excitement will kick off Friday evening from 5 to 9 p.m. with innovative dessert and appetizer competitions. People can purchase tastings for just $2 and the winners will be hand selected by community votes.
Saturday offers a full day of activities from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. as pitmasters go grill-to-grill for the coveted recognition of being crowned the very best in BBQ—all while being judged by trained BBQ experts. After experiencing first-hand the culinary creativity and mastery of participating chefs, guests can enjoy BBQ tastings, live music and local vendors selling both BBQ and non-BBQ plates. Family-friendly activities including line dancing and local artisanal items will also be available to explore.
