Summer Soirée en Violette: New Works by Chère Labbé Doiron
ANF Architects is thrilled to host Chère Labbé Doiron’s latest exhibition, “Summer Soirée en Violette,” opening on July 19th from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm. This enchanting show captures the essence of nature through vivid landscapes that blend color, texture, and diverse materials, conveying the dualities of nature’s vitality and serenity, and its fleeting and constant seasons.
Born in southwest Louisiana, Chère Labbé Doiron went to University of Louisiana-Lafayette for undergrad and the University of Memphis for her masters. She practiced interior design while raising a family in St. Martin Parish and has taught at Kent State University and the University of Memphis. Recently, she retired from teaching at the University of Memphis and Dyersburg State Community College.
Chère’s artistic philosophies are shaped by the strong women in her family and the rich history of Louisiana. Her collaborations with professionals and travel experiences enrich her engagement with natural and built environments. For Chère, life is a delightful adventure filled with interactions with the arts and the spaces people inhabit. Her artwork is distinguished by its use of natural, architectural, and humanistic themes, abstracted and expressed through layers of water-based tinted plaster and oil-based media, including textiles, photographs, and found materials. Her mixed media pieces thoughtfully reference environmental degradation, sustainable living practices, and spiritual undertones, seeking to raise awareness while offering joy in unexpected places and small things.
So please join us for the opening of this exceptional exhibition at ANF on Friday, July 19th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Admission is FREE, and guests can enjoy complimentary soft drinks, wine, and snacks. All pieces will be available for purchase via CashApp, Venmo, cash, or check. If you’re unable to attend the opening, the exhibition will be open for viewing at ANF on weekdays from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm from July 19 to August 15, 2024.
