John Robinette: Six Decades of Art - A Retrospective
ANF Architects is thrilled to present "John Robinette: Six Decades of Art - A Retrospective," an exhibition featuring a selection of works that span the remarkable career of local artist John Robinette. The show will open on April 5th and run until May 2nd.
Robinette earned his BFA degree in Painting from Memphis College of Art in 1966. With a career spanning over 60 years, John has been involved in virtually every aspect of the visual arts. He has taught at the University of Memphis and Memphis College of Art and has worked as a freelance illustrator for major magazines, book publishers, music companies, and advertising agencies across the United States. John's work is characterized by his deep connection to the Mississippi Delta region and the Southern rural landscape, as well as the origins of the Blues subject matters.
Included in this retrospective exhibit are a number of John's more familiar Mississippi Delta inspired paintings, a theme he has passionately pursued for the past 25 years. Visitors will also have the chance to explore John's diverse artistic journey, which has seen him delve into painting, sculpture, stained glass design, mural painting, and illustration.
Throughout his illustrious career, John has received numerous awards, including medals from the Society of Illustrators in New York, Print Magazine’s Art Annual, and New York Addy Awards. His work has been featured in Communication Arts magazine and the book "The Ultimate Portfolio." Works from his Delta series are proudly displayed in many private and corporate collections across the United States.
Join us in celebrating the extraordinary career of John Robinette at ANF Architects on Friday, April 5th, from 5pm to 7pm. Admission is FREE, and refreshments will be provided.
