Richard Baratta Quartet "Music In Movies"
On Sunday, March 26, 2023 the Wayne Public Library Adult Program Series will feature a program by The Richard Baratta Quartet entitled “Music In Film”. Doors open at 1:30 pm and the program begins at 2:00 pm and runs until 3:45 pm. Mr. Baratta is a well-known musician and film producer. His music career began in 1975 in New York City as a jazz drummer. In 1984 he switched genres to the film industry and spent 35 years heavily immersed in movies producing a number of films. His last three films were Wolf of Wall Street, Irishman and Joker. He has been involved in over 50 films and TV shows. Mr. Baratta was nominated along with his pianist/composer, Bill O’Connell for a Grammy in 2021. Since 2019, Mr. Baratta has been exclusively in the music industry again.
In 2020 Mr. Baratta released Music In Film – The Reel Deal. And in 2022 he followed it up with Music In film – The Sequel. Both have received great reviews. For the last four years The Richard Baratta Quartet has performed college concerts, summer concerts, festivals, clubs and at libraries. The theme and focus of his shows has been presenting music from movies he has worked on, and songs from movies that are familiar to his audience. At these shows, Richard Baratta discusses the relationship between the visual and the audio in music and movies. The program is followed by a Q and A.
