This free event is dedicated to raising awareness about the abuse, neglect, and discrimination faced by victims and providing support for older adults in their fight against elder abuse in all its forms.
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with numerous NYC Aging programs and community partners at the support and resource fair. Renowned experts and community leaders will share their insights, and a community walk will symbolize the collective effort to raise awareness.
The event will kick off with a gathering at Queens Blvd. and 40th St. at 9 am in Sunnyside, Queens, followed by a community walk to Sunnyside Community Service’s Older Adult Center at 9:30 am (approximately a 15-minute walk). After the walk, attendees can participate in the speakers' sessions and explore resources at the community fair. Speaker sessions and the resource fair will take place from 10 – 11:30 am at Sunnyside Community Services, located at 43-31 39th Street, in Sunnyside, Queens. Please wear purple in support of elder abuse victims.
Public Transportation: Take the 7 train to the 40th St – Lowery St. stop or take the Q32, Q60 or Q39 bus.
