Sinterklaas Day at Historic New Bridge Landing
Start off the holiday season at Historic New Bridge Landing as the Bergen County Historical Society celebrates Sinterklaas Day on Sunday, December 8th 1 pm- 3 pm.
The Jersey Dutch sandstone house, the Campbell-Christie House will be open for tours.
Be on the lookout for Sinterklaas and stop to take your photo with him.
At 2 pm BCHS Trustee Ariel Woll will be giving a Hanukkah presentation. She will demonstrate how the menorah is lit and will explain more about the history, traditions, and customs of the holiday.
Be sure to stop by The Blackhorse Inn to enjoy donuts, hot cider, and other seasonal treats.
Don’t forget to visit the society’s authentic Jersey Dutch out-kitchen where interpreters will be making Dutch puff pancakes to display among a table of other Dutch holiday goodies.
Activities for families include creating and decorating holiday cards for local veterans and pinecone bird feeder and ornament making.
Ticket reservations for the 41st Annual Colonial Christmas Concerts featuring Linda Russell and Companie will also be on sale.
Free Admission.
Free parking available on site or take the train to the “New Bridge Landing” station on the Pascack Valley Line.
Dogs are permitted on site on a leash but not in the houses.
