3636 Studio, a special event space, film & photography studio, plus an art gallery, right in the heart of the Kaufman Arts District, is hosting an Open House, with a fantastic lineup of visual artists and independent filmmakers, plus some exciting workshops for filmmakers, writers, actors, dancers and models. Plus special guest appearances. Taking a look behind the scenes of 3636 Studio can usually be arranged only via invitation or appointment. Meet the studio owner, photographer, Dave Silverberg, "the Rollei Guy", specializing in model portfolios, and portfolios for dancers. Chat with Ella Smith, a Miss Congeniality 2023 from the City Reliquary's Miss Subways contest, and Miz E with a Z from the short independent film recently seen at Festival of Cinema, Powell Leonard's "The Kong Show on TV!" This fall, we will begin workshop classes with instructional seminars led by Gotoma Film Consultants, providing the tools and resources to anyone looking to make their mark in the film industry. This will be followed by hands-on filmmaking workshops led by Urban Artistic Film Lab instructor, director, Keisong Powell. Classes will be taught by professionals working in the field who come to 3636 Studio because of their passion to pass their knowledge to the next generation of photographers and filmmakers. The Photography curriculum, taught by Dave Silverberg, will start with the basics: set up and use of the camera as well as support equipment. The Photography curriculum moves on to a thorough coverage of methods for producing great images. We will cover the basics of composition and shooting both in the studio using artificial light and outside using natural lighting.
