🎨 Michael Hayes: Besotted with Beauty
Presented by the Cliffside Park Arts Association
📍 CPAA Hub – 207 Edgewater Rd., Cliffside Park, NJ 07010
📅 September 27 – November 2, 2025 (Closed Halloween)
The Cliffside Park Arts Association proudly presents Besotted with Beauty, a solo exhibition by mixed-media artist Michael Hayes, featuring over 40 collages, paintings, and satirical papier-mâché masks. This vibrant and eclectic show marks Hayes’s first public exhibition since her diagnosis with atrophic macular degeneration two years ago.
Hayes’s work seeks to heal through beauty and supports CPAA’s mission to uphold the creative vitality of Cliffside Park and Ridgefield—once havens for artists and poets like Jackson Pollock, Man Ray, and John Mann. While we can’t turn back time, CPAA remains committed to honoring high standards and elevating community through the arts.
Through a mix of abstraction, figuration, and irony, Hayes explores self-expression in both large and intimate formats. Her rollicking palette and bold compositions reflect a life shaped by hardship, resilience, and a deep sense of vocation. Her work is held in private collections across the U.S., Germany, and Japan.
