Mady is an interior designer, painter, and sculptor. She works with mixed media and has experimented with new and innovative techniques.
She grew up in Beirut, Lebanon where her fascination with art began. She graduated from Academie Michel Ange des Beaux Arts as an interior designer. Her early work was displayed in galleries and hotels.
Mady started working with large-scale sculptures in the 1990’s. She made statues with cement on iron “skeletons.” This started a new era for her. Making life sized statues, bas-relief on walls, fountains, and fireplaces for upscale hotels and resorts.
She later was successful painting portraits of politicians, performers and singers and then created statues of religious art. Figurines of garden gnomes and forest animals to larger statues of religious figures.
Mady came to live in Fair Lawn with her family. Her current body of work is symbolic of her art and life journey as a woman who has started a new chapter in her life. She depicts women stepping out of frames as a way to express how she has stepped out of her home country and into a new, more peaceful world. She has always depicted women in her sketches and artwork but what has changed now is her palette which is calmer, warmer, and more positive. Either painting portraits or full figures, her subjects are serene and in contemplation, reflecting her new state of mind.
