University Dialogue: What Does Higher Education Need Next?
Whether you work in higher education, attend a higher education institution, or are personally invested in the flourishing of our colleges and universities, we invite you to be part of the University Dialogue at Upper House. We will discuss together What does higher education need next? — a deceptively simple question that will be addressed by three experienced educators — Vincent Bacote (Wheaton College), Adam Nelson (UW-Madison), and Nadya Williams (Current magazine). They will provide brief remarks, and then we will engage in extended table conversations over a delicious dinner and dessert.
The goal of the University Dialogue is to bring together people of diverse disciplines, worldviews, and ethical, religious, or non-religious perspectives around an important topic, and to build cross-disciplinary bridges and shared understanding through respectful give-and-take. Our program will commence with a reception and appetizers at 5:30 PM, to be followed by our guest speakers’ reflections on our focal question. Our community table discussions over dinner will be followed by final facilitated speaker Q&A. Our evening will conclude around 8:30 PM, although guests are welcome to linger in conversation.
