Going Postal by Terry Pratchett (fantasy). Moist von Lipwig is a con artist destined for the gallows--but the Patrician of Ankh-Morpork has different plans for him. The Patrician offers Moist two options: death, or being assigned the title of Postmaster for the city's long-defunct post office. Moist chooses the less fatal option, but soon learns his new job comes with plenty of risks of its own. Books will be available on the top floor display six weeks in advance.
