DARK TALES invites audiences into an evocative world where ancient chants, elemental forces, mysterious creatures, and chilling stories converge. Performed by the LunART Choir and LunART Chamber Music Collective, this immersive program explores the darker and more mysterious sides of nature, humanity, and the imagination.
The evening opens with the otherworldly sounds of Hildegard von Bingen’s O Rubor Sanguinis, followed by Kara Stacy Bedwell’s Serpents and Stone. Marie-Claire Saindon’s and Monica Pearce’s Lost Words brings the voices of creatures ( kingfisher, otter, and weasel) back into focus, while Katerina Gimon’s Elements invokes the primal forces of Earth and Fire.
The evening culminates in Whitney George’s The Cask of Amontillado, a dramatic chamber work inspired by Edgar Allan Poe’s tale of revenge, deception, and obsession. This will be a world premiere of this piece!
