Puppets in the House: Community Day Brings Free Family Fun to Verona on July 26th! Get ready for a magical afternoon of puppets, performances, and playful community spirit! On Saturday, July 26, from 12–5 p.m., Puppets in the House presents Community Day—a free, family-friendly event at Century School Park as part of the four-day regional puppetry festival hosted by Puppeteers of America.
Designed for all ages, Community Day features live puppet shows, hands-on activities, an arts and crafts market, food trucks, and a spectacular puppet parade. It’s a celebration of creativity that brings together neighbors, artists, and curious minds.
This year’s featured performances include:
"Pip & Squeak Go to the Show" by Matt McGee of Matt-a-Magical: A whimsical journey with two lovable characters discovering the magic of live theater.
"A La Carte: In a Fool’s Kitchen" by Z Puppets Rosenschnoz: A hilarious fusion of puppetry and physical comedy served with a side of imagination.
"Punch & Judy" by Parasol Puppets: A time-honored classic packed with slapstick humor and delightful antics.
“Community Day is where the heart of the festival shines,” said Laurie Everitt, Puppets in the House organizer. “It’s a chance for everyone to experience the joy and artistry of puppetry—whether you're seeing your first show or your fiftieth.”
Community Day is free and open to the public. For details about the complete 4-day festival visit, www.puppetsinthehouse.com.
