In-person and virtual runners and walkers can register for the 26th Annual L.A. Cancer Challenge 5K Walk/Run (LACC). The Halloween-themed charity race hosted and produced by the Hirshberg Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer Research continues the fight to advance much-needed pancreatic cancer research.
As Southern California’s longest-running Halloween-themed fundraisers, the LACC officially kicks off the season with in-person and virtual walkers and runners hitting the 5k course dressed in animated costumes or purple team T-shirts to show unity for finding a pancreatic cancer cure. Custom Winners Medals will be awarded to the top three in-person finishers in each five-year age division while the fastest overall male and female top three winners for the 5k will receive prizes.
Virtual participants are invited to personalize a local fundraiser from anywhere by rallying family, friends, and neighbors to walk or run the 5k throughout their community. Gear consisting of adult and youth T-shirts and finisher’s medal will be mailed, while running bibs are available to download and print from home.
To be held in Wilson Plaza at UCLA, there will be a FREE Fit Family Expo featuring a wide variety of Los Angeles’ top vendors, Halloween festivities, activity tents, course entertainment and more. The LACC will be offering kids of all ages a magical and whimsical experience with the Candy Land Kids Zone with life-size décor as well as fun Halloween activities including a Moonbounce.
Registration for in-person adult runners and walkers ($45); youth age 11 and under ($25). Virtual adult runners and walkers ($45); youth age 11 and under ($25). Virtual participants must register by October 1 to receive packet/gear via USPS before the event (arrival of materials cannot be guaranteed by event if participants register after October 1).
