Wags & Walks Presents Encore Live Reading with Author Robert Vincent
Author and illustrator Robert Vincent will be reading his children’s book, “From the Pocket of an Overcoat” at “Wags Kids Paws & Pajamas,” the monthly literacy and humane-education program, sponsored by the nonprofit dog rescue center. “Wags Kids Paws & Pajamas” aims to help children improve their reading skills by reading to adoptable dogs. The benefits of reading to shelter dogs are praised by educational programs and rescue organizations alike, and Wags & Walks is excited to offer this program to the community.
In observance of “Read Across America” and “National Reading Month,” Vincent will be conducting live read-alouds to kids. He also will be donating exclusive autographed copies to young readers attending “Wags Kids Paws & Pajamas” while supplies last. Copies of “From the Pocket of an Overcoat” are available in Wags & Walks library so kids can read the picture book to sheltered dogs anytime.
Space is limited, so all attendees must be registered and confirmed. One registration per child is allowed (ages six to 12). Kids are invited to dress in pajamas (closed-toed shoes are required). A parent or guardian must be present. Light snacks and beverages will be available in the lobby.
