Darryl Maximilian Robinson, a veteran and award-winning stage actor and play director, who is Founder, Artistic Director and Producer of both the multiracial chamber theater, The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago and the video and theatre arts group, The Excaliber Shakespeare Company Los Angeles Archival Project, was named a winner of a 2022 Making The World Happening Award from Allevents.in. Mr. Robinson received the honor for his numerous online theatre-related offerings at Allevents.in during the early years of the catastrophic Covid-19 pandemic.

For the last few years The Theatre and all the live arts have suffered from a lack of live audiences and diminished resources due to the risk factors Covid presented.

Darryl Maximilian Robinson made a point of suggesting to his fellow professional performers and associates that they always made an effort to document their work during this period so that future artists and audiences could still see and experience the creative work despite the imposing challenges that Covid caused.

Having been involved in more than 250 live stage and literary arts presentations around the country during his 50 years of being a artist, the Chicago-born and stage-trained thespian had an archive of current and past videos, photos, written articles and theatre stories that he could draw from to create online theatre offerings that were Covid-safe and free for perusal by the general public and particularly students of The Theatre.

Now celebrating his 50th Anniversary as an American Stage Performer, Darryl Maximilian Robinson has become noted as the very first black actor in American Theatre History to portray on stage a trio of classic dramatic roles including: Sir Thomas More in Robert Bolt's "A Man For All Seasons" ( in a 1984 revival presented by The University Players of The University of Missouri-St. Louis and directed by AEA Member John Grassilli at The Benton Hall Theater ); King Henry II in a 1992 multiracial cast revival of James Goldman's "The Lion In Winter" ( directed by Mr. Robinson for his chamber theatre Excaliber Productions, Ltd in St. Louis and staged at The Wabash Triangle Cafe ); and Andrew Wyke ( opposite the talented actor Sean Nix as Milo Tindle ) in a 2000, 30th Anniversary, all-black cast revival of Anthony Shaffer's "Sleuth" presented under Mr. Robinson's direction by his chamber theatre The Excaliber Shakespeare Company of Chicago at The Harrison Street Galleries Studio Theatre of Oak Park, Illinois.

Darryl Maximilian Robinson was delighted and thrilled on May 9, 2022 when he received the news that he was one of numerous individuals and groups to win a 2022 Making The World Happening Award from Allevents.in for his creative efforts.

Having won a variety of theatre honors over the years, including a 1997 Chicago Joseph Jefferson Citation Award for Outstanding Actor In A Principal Role In A Play for his performance as Sam Semela in The ESC's revival of Athol Fugard's 'Master Harold And The Boys' ( presented at the much-missed Heartland Cafe Studio Theatre in the Roger's Park neighborhood of the Windy City ) and a 2015 / 2016 Los Angeles Elate Season Ticket Holder Award nomination for Best Actor for his performance as the debonair, but aging leading man Ernest in Tad Mosel's 'Impromptu' ( performed at The Lincoln Stegman Theatre in North Hollywood), Darryl Maximilian Robinson was pleasantly surprised to be cited for his creative behind the scenes work with his win of a 2022 Making The World Happening Award from Allevents.in.

In acknowledgement of his 2022 Making The World Happening Award win from Allevents.in, Darryl Maximilian Robinson is pleased to share an Encore Presentation of his interview ( his very first of a series of four ) on the Monday September 19, 2016 edition of 'The Actor's Choice' Episode 2.37.

The show opens with an intriguing and informative interview with Meisner Technique Master John Ruskin of Santa Monica, California's Ruskin School of Acting and concludes with veteran entertainment journalist and reporter Host Ron Brewington discussing with Darryl Maximilian Robinson his roots and training in The Chicago Theatre.

Darryl Maximilian Robinson knows that it is always an honor to be recognized for one's work. And he and The Excaliber Shakespeare Company will continue to do their work.
