RuckusRoots, a premier Los Angeles-based non-profit dedicated to cultivating environmental awareness through interactive art community programs, proudly announces its TRASHion Show & Fundraising Gala on Saturday, July 18th. Hosted at the contemporary art gallery, The Pit, in the vibrant Atwater Village neighborhood, this eco-chic event blends cutting-edge wearable art with environmental activism. Making the night even more unforgettable is a special DJ set from multi-instrumentalist, producer, and LA local Dougie Stu—best known as half of the acclaimed psych-pop/dance duo Brijean.
Nearly 15 years after throwing their very first TRASHion show in 2012, RuckusRoots is bringing the movement back to the runway to highlight creative climate solutions. Sponsored by Rediscover Center, our gala will feature a jaw-dropping collection of avant-garde, wearable art created entirely from reclaimed, recycled, repurposed, and unconventional materials. Handpicked local artists—including a featured designer spotlight on Hollywood-based upcycling specialist Hanna Aabram—will transform what most consider "garbage" into high-fashion statements.
All proceeds from the gala and ticket sales will directly benefit RuckusRoots' ongoing community programming, providing Angelenos with interactive art workshops that address climate change and build environmental justice through collaborative creativity.
