All are invited to the 92nd annual Procession and Mass to honor Our Lady of Guadalupe and St. Juan Diego in East L.A. on Sunday, December 3 from 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The procession will start at 10:30 a.m. in front of Our Lady of Solitude Parish, 4561 E. Cesar Chavez Avenue, Los Angeles 90022, with representatives of different parish groups and ministries throughout the Archdiocese, including the Guadalupanos groups. The Mass celebrated by Archbishop José H. Gomez will start at 1 p.m. at East Los Angeles College Stadium, 1301 Cesar Chavez Ave., Monterey Park, CA 91754, after the end of the one-mile procession. Themed this year “Holy Mary of Guadalupe, path of the life and hope,” the annual Procession and Mass was established in East L.A. in 1931 by Mexican Catholics who fled persecution by the Mexican government during the Cristero War.
